New hires for expanding Property Litigation team

We are pleased to welcome Paul Pinder and Thomas Walsh to the firm.

Paul, who joined us in January, is a specialist lawyer with more than 13 years’ experience in dealing with complex commercial, mixed-use and residential development schemes Paul has joined the property litigation division at Emms Gilmore Liberson (EGL).

Paul Pinder has been appointed as director and will work alongside partner, Martyn Liberson in developing the law firm’s expanding client base. He is joined by Thomas Walsh, a University of Law Birmingham graduate, who takes up the position of associate solicitor within EGL’s property litigation team.

A member of the Property Litigation Association, Paul Pinder brings significant experience of advising UK and international pension funds, institutional investors, public sector landlords and private developers. He will be responsible for advising clients in all areas of property litigation matters, encompassing site assembly, vacant possession strategies, statutory compliance and mixed-use commercial-residential structuring, including service charge consultations and lease extension claims.

Paul moves to EGL from Pinsent Masons in Manchester, where he was head of the housing law property disputes team, having previously held senior positions at international law firms, DLA Piper UK LLP and Nabarro LLP. A former teacher with a degree in chemistry, he is fluent in French and Spanish.

Thomas Walsh, who joined EGL in late 2018, completed the Graduate Diploma in Law, the Legal Practice Course and an MSc in Law, Business and Management at the University of Law in Birmingham. He has held litigation paralegal roles within a multinational energy company and a well-respected US law firm and has broadened his skills during a training contract within a local authority where he acquired experience in planning law, prosecutions and judicial review.
